Workshops and trainings designed to help parents and students become advocates for themselves.
Topics to include:
Knowing your rights in the school discipline and suspension process
Interactions with law enforcement in schools and the criminal justice system
Promoting academic success and preventing failure
Navigating special education
Screening of “North Carolina’s School-to- Prison Pipeline” by Duke Center for Documentary Studies
